A Dutch oven is a thick-walled cooking pot with a tight-fitting lid. Dutch ovens come in many forms, however it is very important to carefully select your oven as some material are not suitable for placing directly onto a fire or its coals. You are best selecting a Dutch oven made from seasoned cast iron. The Dutch oven is very versatile for cooking on fires as it can be used as a pot to cooking chillies, curries etc. but can also be used for baking products e.g. bread and pizza.
